Design a set of typographic playing cards based on the typeface Avenir.
Designed in 1988 by Swiss type designer Adrian Frutiger as a more humane expression of the Geometric sans-serif styles, Avenir is a highly legible, modern typeface suitable for a wide range of uses from display to long-running text. Experimenting with Avenir's letter forms, counters, and glyphs, I created a series of thirteen intricate patterns, and differentiated the suits by color. Keeping with the typeface's emphasis on legibility, I kept the layout clean with ample white space.
